How to Perform a Babality on Goro, Kintaro and Shao Khan[edit]

You can't normally use a Babality on Goro or Kintaro. To do so, play on Normal or harder and perform a Babality on Shang Tsung and NEVER LOSE A ROUND. This will result in an automatic Babality on these bosses. If you use Bablities on both of these bosses, you'll use it on Shao Khan.

Secret Battles[edit]

Perform the following actions to unlock secret battles.

  • Smoke - In order to get this fight, you must fight in the ladder until you get to the Living Forest stage. When you get here you want to go to the right of the screen a bit, to about the second tree. After a while you should see smoke pop out behind the tree (if he doesn't, hit PLAYER SELECT and try again). When he pops up hold DOWN and hit SELECT (BACK) until your opponent explodes. This will start the fight with Smoke, also unlocking the Trophy.
  • Jade - Get a double flawless victory and perform a fatality on Shang Tsung.
  • Noob Saibot - On The Temple look for Noob in the background win without hitting BLOCK.
  • Reptile - On The Pit 2 (Night) look for a shadow to fly across the moon and get a double flawless victory and perform a stage fatality.

    Infinite Koins in Challenge Tower[edit]

In floor 37 of the Challenge Tower you will fight Kano as Kabal. You want to attack him to get as many koins as you want, but make sure you press start and hit retry before you die or lose too much life. You'll notice that your koins haven't reset.

Alternate method: In floor 127 of the Challenge Tower you will fight Director as Johny Cage and you can pull off the same exploit here. Additions by complicatedlysimple.

    Secret Treasure Chest Locations[edit]

In the Krypt, the following locations will give you secret treasure chests. They each contain 5,000 Koins; there are a total of 4 secret chests to give you an additional 20,000 Koins! Look for small, green areas on the ground that resemble acid moving around in a puddle.

Deadlands: To the right of DL-52, left of the building

Hollow of Infestation: Along the wall, in front of a demon head sculpture

Meadow of Despair: To the right of the Necropolis entry

Bloodmarsh: Along the wall, in front of a demon head sculpture

    Koin Farming[edit]

Clearing story mode should give you a hefty amount of koins for purchasing unlockable fatalities, costumes, etc. in the Kombat Krypt. If you grow tired of this, you can use Arcade Mode to farm for koins.

Set the difficulty to Very Easy and three rounds. Attempt to achieve a Flawless Victory (earns 1000 koins) each round. Perform a fatality for an extra 250 koins. This is a slow, but reliable method to earn a potential 3250 koins for a few minutes of work.

    Kombat Kodes List[edit]

Kombat Kodes are entered on the loading screen of two player matches. Each player can cycle a set of three icons by tapping buttons on his controller. The numbers below correlate to each player's three icons and how many times the icon must be cycled. For example, to activate the 'Armless Kombat' Kode, both players much cycle the left icon nine times, and cycle the center and right icons once each. Some Kombat Kodes require both players input their codes, while others work with just one person inputting them.

    The Pit Classic Soundtrack[edit]

When in 2-Player Versus mode, hit TRIANGLE (PS3) or Y (Xbox 360) at the character select screen to choose your arena. Press START to select 'The Pit' instead of hitting X (PS3) or (A) Xbox 360, and you'll hear Shao Khan laugh. During the fight, you'll be treated to The Pit's 'Klassic' soundtrack.

    Toasty[edit]

When you knock an enemy down, and then uppercut him/her at the right time, Dan Forden will appear in the bottom right hand corner, and he will say, 'Toasty!' in a very high-pitched manner. Dan Forden is wearing a blue-gray shirt with a piece of toast super-imposed on it.

This is an old Mortal Kombat joke that goes back to the Mortal Kombat 2 days.
