Nandini is an Indian Tamil supernaturaltelevision series which premiered on 23 January 2017. Season 1 went off air on 22 December 2018 on Sun TV^[1] The show starsNithya Ram, Malavika Wales and Rahul Ravi.^[2] Season 1 was produced by Tamil film director Sundar C. and his wife, actress Kushboo.^[3]Season 2 is being produced by a totally different production company.^{[citation needed]} It was edited by National award winner Srikanth.N.B and his long time associate C. M. Selvakumar.

Season 1

• Flash back
• Shiva (Riyaz Khan)a man falls in love with Parvathi(Kushboo), a shapeshifting snake and get married. But Parvathi's snake kingdom (Khargodaka Clan) disapproves this marriage and tries to kill Rathneval. Parvathi give birth to twin sisters, Nandhini and Ganga. Nandhini is the sister with snake element while Ganga with human element. In order to save her husband from the clutches of her evil family, she used her powers and transformed him into a transgender. This is due to a taboo that Khargodaka snakes must not kill any transgenders. Now, the husband is known as Seyanayagi who lost his previous memories and became a new person. Parvathi and Seyanayagi got separated when trying to escape from their enemies, which made Parvathi to take Nandhini whilst Seyanayagi took Ganga with him.
• Years passed by
• Ganga was adopted by Manikyam while Nandhini grew up with Parvathi who gradually became an expert in Ayurvedic medicine and devotee of Kattu Amman with the help of a priest called Muniappa(Narasimha Raju). But later Parvathi was brutally murdered by Rajashekhar(Vijayakumar), Namboothiri and Madhavi( Namboodri's sister) with the help of their friends Vishwanath and Kumar for attaining The Three Kalachakras present at the idol of Kattu Amman. Before her death, Parvati asks Nandhini (who was a baby snake) avenge her death and bring back all the three Kalachakras to Kattu Amman temple. Later, Nandhini goes to take revenge against Rajashekar but Nambhoodhiri puts her under a magical bond. In case a drop of blood from a virgin woman who is a devotee of the snake falls on the magical bond the snake would become free and regain all its powers.

• Twenty seven years later
• Ganga (Nithya Ram) lives with her adoptive father Manikyaam who is a servant of a billionaire named Rajashekhar. Ganga is very passionate about the snake mound in the courtyard of the palace. She worships the deity residing in it as 'Nagamma'does poojas and 'Naaga Theyyam' . But she is unaware of the fact that the snake is an 'Ichchadhaari Nagam', (Avenging Shapeshifting snake) which has been waiting for many years to avenge Rajashekhar's family. Rajashekhar decides to get his son Arun (Rahul Ravi),a widower to get married. His relatives are summoned, who eye only the wealth of the family.Previously,Arun falls in love with Janaki (Malavika Wales). They get married. But Janaki is killed by Arun's uncle Dharmaraj, his son Moorthy & Arun's friend Balaji because they had a dislike to their marriage and said that Janaki dies due to chirldbith complications. Janaki returns as a Vengeful spirit, decides to take revenge against Dharmaraj, Moorty and Balaji and also protects Arun from the asset-hungry relatives. Meanwhile, Bhairavi (Gayatri Jayaraman) comes to revenge Arun for her sister's death.
• Meanwhile, Arun learns that Devasena, his child through Janaki, is alive and brings her to the Palace. Janaki kills Arun's friend Balaji and Dharmaraj as a vengeance of her death. The relatives who are already panicked by Janaki's spirit are further discouraged by Devasena's arrival, and get away from the marriage arrangements. The Nambhoodhiri advises the family to marry Ganga, who has the divine blessings, to Arun. One night, while picking up flowers for the pooja for 'Nagamma', Ganga pricks her finger. Her blood falls on the magical bond. It breaks the supernatural curse which kept the snake in the snakemount and it comes out. After this incident, the snake is now free from its curse and is getting ready to avenge Rajasekar's family. The snake introduces herself as 'Nandhini' and mentions to Ganga that it requires a human body to exact its revenge without any suspicions from anyone in the family but Ganga refuses to accept and allow Nandini (Icchaadhaari Nagam) to continue her vengeance and kill the whole family. Nandini vehemently continues its sole purpose by transmigrating herself into Ganga's body, therefore successfully possessing Ganga without knowing that Ganga is her sister. The next day was Ganga's and Arun's marriage, which happened while Nandini was in Ganga's body. Janaki enters Devasena's body to save her family and finish the evil Nandini's tricks. After many incidents, Nandini fails to kill Arun and Devasena because of Janaki.Later Nandini left Ganga's body.Nandhini (Nithya Ram)who now have gotten her own human form, acquires the identical appearance as Ganga. Meanwhile, many conflicts arise between Arun and Ganga as Arun married Seetha(Malavika Wales),a woman who has exact resemblance of Janaki who later goes abroad.
• Nandhini managed to kill Kumar, Namboothiri, Viswanath and Rajasekhar which instigated Arun to seek revenge against Nandhini to avenge his father's death. Madhavi (Rekha Krishnappa) decides to kill Nandhini for murdering his brother, Namboothiri. Later, Seiyanayagi regained his old memories and revealed to Ganga and Nandhini that they are sisters and he is their father. Seiyanayagi, Ganga and Nandhini reunites after knowing that all of them are blood related. Nandhini managed to obtain one of the Kalachakras but the remaining two Kalachakras of Kattu Amman went into the possession of an unknown magical force which is actually Namboothiri. Namboothiri also stole the two Kalachakras from Rajasekhar and Madhavi. Nandhini and Seiyanayagi are now in search of the unknown force to locate the remaining two Kalachakras with the help of Bhairavi who became a good person now. In the mean time, Ganga is forced by her husband, Arun to be separated from Nandhini since she is the killer of his father. While, Janaki's spirit at last rest in peace and achieved a position in the 'world of spirits'.A lady called Selva Rani and her daughter Malathi arrive the palace.She is revealed to be Rajashekar's second wife. Seetha comes back from London and enters the palace to meet Arun and Ganga. Ganga revealed the ill motives of Sathyanarayanan to Seetha, and they fights together against Sathya Narayan and successfully sends him out of the palace. Meanwhile,Chamundi the dwarf woman who hunted for Kalachakram had come back again and captured one Kalachakram.Janaki came back once again because of request of Ganga and Seetha. Janaki entered Seetha's body. While, everyone comes to know that Namboothiri is the Mayashakti. He and Madhavi killed Muniappa and acquired two kalachakras.Meanwhile, Chamundi created a rift between Ganga and Nandini.She was killed by Janaki and the kalachakra was taken by Ganga. Meanwhile, Nandini promises that she will kill Arun, Malathi and other family members and return kalchakras on the day of Malathi's marriage.Madhavi gets the third kalachakra and Namboothiri again gets his human form.
• On the day of Malathi's marriage,Nandini captures all family members and demands Kalachakra. Namboothiri defeats Nandini and the whole family gathers at Kattu Amman temple.Namboothiri gives his special powers to kalachakra's and asks Ganga to give it to him.But Ganga gives them to Nandini and Nandini gets all the three kalachakras.Nandini brutually beats Madhavi and Namboothiri.While Madhavi tries to stab Nandini,Janaki comes for her help. Nandini finally kills Madhavi and Namboothiri in the bonfire and she warns all the people who tries to steal temple's wealth.Later Malathi and Murthy 's marriage takes place. Nandini becomes a part of Kattu Amman and becomes a snake statue as she is unable to keep up her promise to her mother as she is unable to kill Arun and Malathi. She tells Ganga that she will return once in every year as her sister Nandini and gives a Nagarathnam to keep it with her and worship it. Later Janaki reaches world of souls and tells that she will be born to Ganga. Ganga becomes pregnant. Ganga puts the nagarathnam inside the snake mound and worships it. Happy ending takes place as Arun and Ganga decide to name the baby as Nandini. The last scene shows Nandini coming from nagarathnam and surrounding the palace showing that she is the protector of the family from now on.

Season 2

• The palace is happy after the destruction of evil forces .It is the wedding anniversary day of Ganga. Arun's Uncle & aunt have visited the palace. The wedding anniversary is celebrated, according to Selvarani's wishes. After the wedding anniversary day celebrations, while sleeping in the night Ganga gets a dream that she gives birth to a icchadhari snake and prays to god that shouldn't be true. Meanwhile an evil magician ( with the appearance of a sage) called Ashtothara has come to avenge Ganga and the family members of the palace. He does several rituals against the palace ,but his attempts become futile ,as the palace is protected by Nagarathnam, given by Nandhini. Ganga and Arun consult a priest named 'Raja Raja Cholan Swami ',due to ganga's worries .The priest visits the palace and feels an evil presence in the palace. He tells Ganga and Arun ,that a ritual should be conducted to resolve this problem.Meanwhile ,Arun's uncle and Aunt take Devasena with them out for few days.During the travel Arun notices that he left something essential for the ritual & he reaches the Palace.Ashtothara consults an evil force and uses this opportunity to attack the Palace due to the absence of Nagarathnam (because it is with Ganga ).The Palace totally collapses. Arun gets trapped and he dies. After hearing this fatal incident Ganga faints. Devasena has reached Bangalore with Arun's uncle & aunt. Arun's uncle and Aunt too gets informed about this incident. They get shocked after hearing this matter. They manage to convince the shocked Devasena ,and they adopt Devasena. But Arun's aunt isn't satisfied with this .
• After 19 years
• Devasena(Kavya Shastry) is living with her step mother and father (Arun's uncle & aunt). The Nagarathnam is protected by the same Raja Raja Cholan Swami. Selvarani visits Devasena, in the meantime Devasena is invited to a wedding of her friend. In the wedding Devasena gets shocked to see a girl whose appearance is exactly similar to Ganga's appearance. She is called by the people as 'Mahathayi' alias Janani(Nithya Ram).It is revealed that Ganga didn't die and she gave birth to a baby which turned into a snake. Ganga was shocked to see this and eventually she died. Rajarajacholan swami adopted the child and named it as Janani. Janani is a shivanagam, like her Grandmother the Shivanaagam Parvathi. Raja Raja chola swami knowing this,performs several rituals up to date to keep Janani away from transforming into shivanaagam, so that she will be in her ordinary human form. Now Devasena and Janani reunite after knowing that they are sisters. Raja Raja chola swami also advices Devasena & their family that they have to perform several rituals time to time in order to prevent Janani from transforming into the shape shifting Shivanaagini .Raja raja chola swami also handovers the naagarathnam to Janani ,& tells her to keep it with her ,as it'll be helpful to her.Arun's aunt and her children are not happy with Janani's arrival at their home.But Devasena and her foster father shows a greater love & care on Janani .Meanwhile,Ashtothara learns from his father that he can be brought back to life ,through the 3 kalachakras ,(which are preserved at the temple of Kattu amman) ,But to take the kaalachakras, first he needs to take the Naagarathnam from Janani .But his attempts become vain.
